Howe Sound Pharmacy and Community Service
Our Commitment to You and our Community:
We are here to help! Being an independent, locally owned and operated pharmacy on the edge of the West Coast for over 40 years has allowed us to innovate and create a unique patient-centered care model that encourages engagement with a pharmacist at every visit to the pharmacy.
We are part of your community-focused health care team!
Howe Sound Pharmacy is a well respected business in both in the community and within other health professions. Our pharmacists are called upon to appear or comment in local media when issues pertaining to pharmaceutical and healthcare are addressed.
We continue to provide lectures to the school district on Drug and Alcohol counseling for youth in the community.
Howe Sound Pharmacy was one of a selected number of pharmacies in British Columbia to be involved in a specialized “Asthma” study funded by the Province and the University of British Columbia. This study, which has been referenced in many medical journals, showed the importance that trained pharmacists can have in treating this chronic disease.
We were the first participants in the BC Medication Management Project (BCMMP), as well as early adopters and researchers of Medication Management theories and practice. We use appointment-based medication reviews to help you understand your medication, which allows you to make more informed and better decisions about your health, as well as be made aware of any medication interactions, changes, or other issues that may surface during a review.
We help each patient to define and reach individual health care goals, monitor ongoing conditions, reduce medication when possible, work to eliminate side effects, and look for ways to reduce health care costs.
Our goal is to help you manage your health and Health information!
