Spring 2023 COVID Boosters
BC is offering booster doses for COVID-19. invitations will start going out in early April.
People in long-term care: you will receive a dose from a health care worker who visits you.
Seniors 80 years or older, or 70 years and Indigenous: you will get an invitation from Get Vaccinated.
People 18 years or older who are immunocompromised: you will get an invitation from Get Vaccinated.

Who is eligible for the vaccine?
Everyone 5 years and older. -

There are no appointments available, what do I do?
Register with the provincial government COVID-19 registry by calling their hotline. -
What vaccine is available through Howe Sound Pharmacy?
At this time, we are no longer administering the Astra Zeneca vaccine.

When can I get my booster dose?
The booster dose of the vaccine should be taken 6 months after your last dose. Anyone who received their first dose in the Province of BC will receive an email when openings are available. -
My first dose was the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, can I get the Astra-Zenaca for my second dose?
People aged 5 to 17 will be offered the bivalent pfizer vaccine. People 18 or older will be offered the bivalent Moderna or Pfizer vaccine. On-going research has shown that it is now safe to mix brands of vaccines. -
Can I get a vaccine that is not mRNA-based?
Although mRNA vaccines provide the most effective protection against COVID-19, if you 18 or older and would prefer a non-mRNA vaccine you can receive the Novavax or Johnson&Johnson vaccines.
