Position Summary:
We are seeking a clinically-focused, patient-oriented Pharmacist to join our experienced team. This role is centered around our “Pharmacist at Intake” approach, where every patient begins their pharmacy experience with a direct consultation with a pharmacist. This model allows you to build immediate rapport, assess clinical needs upfront, and directly impact patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
Pharmacist at Intake
-
Serve as the first point of contact for all patients dropping off or refilling prescriptions
-
Perform initial assessments, medication reviews, and health consultations at intake
-
Provide personalized education, medication counseling, and care planning
-
Identify potential drug interactions, adherence issues, or therapy optimizations early in the process
Clinical Services:
-
Administer immunizations (e.g. flu, travel vaccines) and other minor clinical procedures
-
Support chronic disease management and wellness initiatives
-
Collaborate with local physicians, care homes, and health authorities to optimize community care
Medication Management
-
Utilize Med Sync and automated packaging technologies to support adherence
-
Oversee dispensing accuracy, therapeutic appropriateness, and patient safety
-
Provide ongoing monitoring and follow-up with patients, particularly in long-term care or complex medication regimens
Team & Workflow Collaboration
-
Work closely with pharmacy technicians and assistants to streamline operations
-
Support and train staff on the pharmacist-at-intake workflow
-
Maintain accurate records in compliance with College of Pharmacists of BC standards
Skills & Qualifications:
-
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BScPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)

Current registration in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia

Minimum 1 year experience in a community pharmacy setting (new graduates considered with strong clinical skills)

Additional experience in long-term care, mental health, or palliative care is an asset

Excellent communication, assessment, and patient engagement skills

OVERVIEW
Work at the top of your field, providing essential support in patient care. We are seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our 20-person team. You will assist the Sunshine Coast’s largest pharmacy provide medication services to the community and numerous care facilities.
What you’ll do:
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately.
- Monitor, maintain and update pharmacy narcotic inventory by pharmaceutical stock
- Process prescriptions and insurance claims
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies
- Help with medication administration under the supervision of a pharmacist
What skills do you need?
- Successful applicants will have experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Must have a current and valid Canadian Pharmacy Technician license.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling medications.
- Familiar with Windows.
- Comfortable with learning and adopting new technology.
- Experience with WinRx an asset.
