Overview:

We are looking for a pharmacist who enjoys being part of the community and developing relationships with patients and customers. You will be working at the top of your license by providing clinical services, as well as prescribing, adapting, helping with medication management, coordinating with our medication synch program and providing emergency refills to patients in our community. These will include long-term care, a tertiary and community based mental health facilities as well as palliative care.

What you’ll do

  • Work as a member of the pharmacy team providing outstanding patient care
  • Receive and review prescriptions for patients in a timely manner
  • Gather patient information during drug therapy visits
  • Communicate with patients and pharmacy staff regarding their needs, questions, and concerns
  • Participate in training on different medications at your own time and location to ensure you are up to date with the latest medications in the field
  • Perform inventory verification
  • Maintain accurate pharmacy records

OVERVIEW

Work at the top of your field, providing essential support in patient care. We are seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our 20-person team. You will assist the Sunshine Coast’s largest pharmacy provide medication services to the community and numerous care facilities.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately.
  • Monitor, maintain and update pharmacy narcotic inventory by pharmaceutical stock
  • Process prescriptions and insurance claims
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies
  • Help with medication administration under the supervision of a pharmacist

What skills do you need?

  • Successful applicants will have experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Must have a current and valid Canadian Pharmacy Technician license.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling medications.
  • Familiar with Windows.
  • Comfortable with learning and adopting new technology. 
  • Experience with WinRx an asset.

  • Restock shelves and drug dispensing machines
  • Help with inventory control
  • Assemble and gather prescriptions for pharmacists and technicians.
  • Fill blister cards for patients as needed and according to scheduled medication times.

What skills do you need?

  • Previous experience in pharmacy or other related fields, such as 1-2 years or more at a retail pharmacy, recommended though not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Good computer and phone skills.
  • Quick and efficient data entry.
  • Experience with WinRx an asset though not necessary.

What you’ll do

  • Answer phones to address patient needs such as collecting prescription refill requests or assembling over the counter medication orders.
  • Sort and retrieve prescriptions for pick-up.
  • Process sales of prescriptions and over the counter medications.
  • Receive and deploy stock in front store.
  • Possibility to transition to managing patient accounts for monthly billing based on experience and training

What skills do you need?

  • No prior experience needed, we’ll train you.
    -Familiarity with a Windows computers.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and professionally with co-workers and the public.
  • Be fit enough to be walking and standing all day as well as have the flexibility to squat down multiple times a day to access pharmacy inventory and front store stock.
